Teamwork & Side Quest Push

Ok, let's try something fun, let's try rush group... Production 😈
Because fuck, we are developers on not ?!

Tonight... your game is on Side Quest validation queue.

We need:

  • a project manager :
    • you can communicate
    • people don't hate you
    • you understand the therm "deathline"
    • Interdiction to code today for you
    • If it fail that your fault... So rip and tear motherf**r!
    saw
  • two-three integrators:
    • you can communicate a bit,
    • understand git,
    • understand what happening
  • some last minutes code rusher/pusher
    • The rest of the group 😅

Maude request

  • Don't contact or distract the artist during the workshop of this week.
    • You can speak with them after 16H
  • You can request artist modification if you work on their asset but by using this post only
  • Only the manager can skip this constraint but he need to contact Maude first
  • Sébastien can switch to developer group to help with his Oculus S from Thursday-Friday

What I am experimenting with you ?

  • Stress of production in team on small project
  • A project manager is always needed
  • Never be more that 2 people on a git without communication
  • Instability vs production vs client request vs time

What is the plan ?

You will have to fork the magic door project I did with the artists on GitHub and integrate all your code of yesterday in the project by using the package manager vs your new fork git project.

  • The project manager has boss authority on decision
    • Reminder, he can't code and must over-watch the project to be publish at the end of the day on SideQuest
  • I only authorized the forked git project to be managed by the integrators.
  • The integrator can't modify the package of the colleague with team viewer but can request modification by asking or by requesting the manager to push the colleague task to be in time.
  • Participants that are not integrator or manager are for today employ of the manager (boss).
    • Meaning that for the good the project you can be ask other tasks that coding:
      • Create icon for the game;
      • Create texte for Side Quest;
      • Prepare assets or packages for the integrators;
      • Make google search on a topic needed for the publication of the project
      • ...

You have three simulated clients

Technocité

  • You are design a game in the condition of a workshop of Technocité formation. So they can use it or show it in various place and condition.
    • Be pro
    • Avoid Not Save For Work
    • 100% Copyright on your asset and not asset bought on the store

Yourself

This project is a group portfolio.

  • You have 12 rooms from the artist team;
  • You have 12 VR Design code / room with demo of your coder team;
    So do your best to put everybody in good light.

The Side Quest community

You don't risk a lot by publishing shit on the Side Quest store because that an alternative store where everybody is aware that this a developer website. But the aim of this workshop is to learn how to publish VR Game later on your life for official store.

  • Take in minded that your game is a alpha production played by human at the end
  • When your game is on production you don't touch it anymore
  • Your game is validated by SideQuest owner before publication so you have to push only one version

Reminder

Do your best, the community of SideQuest are very cool and love virtual reality creators

May the code be with you.

And listen to your project manager 🎯!
He will need all your support 🏆.

Draft add

Thinking while coding yesterday:

  • Room of artist required Maude Shader
  • Don't use default Visual Studio "internal" because it means that Mattéro won't be able to access your code (it means private out of the assembly)

I just shearch for doc about:

  • Raycast, spherecast, Sphere Overlayer
