Unable to get the 'Connect your API KEY' overlay to hide (ie connect to anything)

Just downloaded, v 3.14.19

Installed in vscode. Selected Local. Selected a model. Nothing happened. 'Change connection settings' to the standard Ollama port, http://localhost:11434/ , I click connect and I get the small bubble at the top saying connected. Then the overlay just flashes back on. Some interesting things..

all connect.
If I restart the extension, everything is fine for a second or two with the correct model showing at the bottom left .. then it instantly flashes to Connect your API KEY and the bottom left model is turned into Anthropic.

I got it to work with an earlier version of CodeGPT (v3.13.40 works for me).
Just go to extensions and click the cog wheel for the extension and select "Install Specific Version"...

Edit: But it just flashes and removes the chat... dangit.
Edit2: With an even older version of the extension it actually works. (v3.12.3)
Edit3: This is for VS Code, not Visual Studio 2022.

The same issue. Just installed the extension and cannot do anything except clicking on ollama's models
