Download Yo-2.0.866-arm64.dmg — that's the app (Macs with Apple silicon).
Windows or Linux? Yo runs in your browser there, installed with one command: see Windows and Linux.
Install
- Open Yo-2.0.866-arm64.dmg from your Downloads.
- Drag Yo into Applications.
- First open: macOS asks once, because Yo isn't notarized by Apple. Open Yo and click Done, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway next to "Yo was blocked", and enter your Mac password. (On macOS 13 or 14: right-click Yo in Applications → Open.)
If macOS still refuses (or says Yo "is damaged"), run this once in Terminal, then open Yo:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Yo.app
Which file?
- .dmg — the app, recommended
- .zip — the same app, used by Set up with your agent
- compose.server.yaml — for running Yo on an always-on home server (Yo's setup chat walks you through it)
- install.ps1, install.sh — Yo for Windows and Linux, in your browser (run them with the one-line commands linked above)
- yo-app, yo-app.ps1, yo-app.cmd, yo-app-compose.yaml, yo.ico — used by those installers; you don't need to download them
- sha256 — a fingerprint GitHub shows so careful people can verify the file; you can ignore it
Updating: Yo tells you when a new version is out (the update button, bottom left). First quit Yo (⌘Q, or Quit Yo in its menu-bar icon: closing the window keeps it running, and macOS won't replace an open app). Then install it the same way and choose Replace; your chats, memory and settings stay. If macOS then asks about "Yo Safe Storage", enter your Mac password and click Always Allow. The first open after installing can take up to 30 seconds while macOS checks Yo.
Need help? In Yo, open Settings → Bug reports → Report a problem. To remove Yo completely, see Uninstall.
Yo is free and open source (Apache-2.0). If it gives you back a little time, you can support it. Totally optional.
The agent's computer for this version: ghcr.io/juniorsua/yo-computer:2.0.866 (Yo downloads it the first time it needs it).
