0.4.0
- Add
Normalized/Fixedmodes for raycast offset- Previously, there was only
Normalizedmode, and offset was performed as a percentage of the total line length. - Now there is also a
Fixedmode to set the offset size independently of the line length. - Previously, both offsets were applied from the start; now the start offset is from the beginning, and the end offset is from the end for both modes.
- Previously, there was only
- Simplified the miter length algorithm, reducing polygon overlaps in complex areas.
0.3.2
0.3.1
This release focuses on fixing various bugs that could cause warnings to appear in the console and, in some cases, prevent the line from being rendered. I also carried out another round of optimization, achieving roughly a 10–20% performance improvement through more aggressive caching and eliminating unnecessary recalculations.
0.3.0
The following changes have been introduced in this release:
- Custom line editor in the Scene View
- Gradient support
- Support for sprites as textures (make sure to enable
Repeatmode in the sprite import settings.) - [Experimental] Material support
- Other improvements
According to my tests, this version does not show any performance degradation despite the increased amount of functionality. At this stage, the focus will be on identifying and fixing bugs.
0.2.2
This release focuses on improving the performance of the component:
- Updated the README with several demonstration GIFs.
- Introduced caching and performed targeted refactoring, resulting in a ~1.5–2× performance improvement.
- Completely eliminated GC allocations during runtime.
Further performance gains are likely limited without reducing or changing existing functionality.
0.2.1
0.2.0
-
Introduced a custom Bezier spline implementation, removing the dependency on Unity Splines.
-
This change resulted in a ~5–6× performance improvement. Benchmarks were done by rendering a random 50-point spline (subdivision = 3) 1000 times per frame.
-
Implementing this required a major refactor of the entire codebase, improving overall architecture and maintainability.
