Constellation 1.0.0
Constellation 1.0 is the first release for the documented single Linux Splunk Enterprise search-head profile. Create and refine dashboards through a conversation beside a live canvas, then save normal private Dashboard Studio dashboards that can be edited and shared through Splunk.
Highlights
- Blank-canvas real-data creation, native pages and drilldowns, selected-element chat edits, durable drafts/conversations and recoverable dashboard management.
- OpenAI, Ollama and administrator-approved AITK inference, with current-user search validation and guarded image/PDF input where supported.
- Native media/SVG assets and compatible cross-instance CSV, macro and report dependencies from the previously unpublished 0.35–0.43 increments.
- Field inspection follows selected sources and current input values. Compound requests retain all goals. Initial JavaScript is about 91% smaller through deferred renderer loading.
Downloads

Install or update through normal Splunk app management, refresh existing workspace tabs and follow Splunk's restart indication. Back up owned drafts, native dashboards and administrator configuration. Draft schema remains 3 and portable format 5; the tested rollback baseline is the unpublished 0.43.0 package. Rollback to the older published 0.34 archive is not qualified. Configure provider credentials in Splunk; none are supplied in these downloads.
Qualification and scope
The exact app passed 620 Python and 143 frontend tests, production build, AppInspect precert with zero errors/failures, and ordinary-author creation/editing, native output, recovery/cancellation and upgrade/rollback checks on Enterprise 10.2.8 / Studio 1.23.12 and Enterprise 10.4.4 / Studio 1.26.6. OpenAI, Ollama and AITK 6.1/6.2 journeys were exercised. The release commit also passes CI. Archives were checked for macOS metadata, runtime-local material and secrets.
This is bounded qualification. Complete Studio parity, Cloud certification, SHC coordination, arbitrary models and every advanced feature combination are outside the release profile. Native-only properties remain preserved. Human/independent reviews continue after release under the product owner's decision; they are not labelled as completed. See the support policy, upgrade guide and dated validation with retained failures.
Compatible bug/security fixes can ship as 1.x updates. Report reproducible issues using the bug form, with synthetic examples and no credentials, internal hosts, indexed data or private files. Use private vulnerability reporting for security issues.
Repository access is required while distribution remains private. First-party code and documentation use the MIT License, copyright 2026 Leiter Consulting. Third-party components retain their own licenses.
Documentation refresh · October 29, 2026
The documentation refresh at revision d1470b3 added a task-led documentation index, clearer installation/provider/upgrade guidance, troubleshooting, four labelled local UI screenshots with synthetic data, and the illustrated PDF. Detailed historical evidence remains available. See the assessment and closeout and documentation index.
This documentation-only revision leaves the qualified app bytes and v1.0.0 runtime tag unchanged. GitHub’s automatic source archives retain the original tagged snapshot. The later documentation revision passed 628 Python tests, local-link and screenshot-provenance checks, publication/secret scans and CI. These checks do not add new runtime, provider or native qualification.
MIT licensing · October 29, 2026
The owner selected MIT for Constellation’s first-party code and documentation in c469f91. The current handoff and standalone LICENSE accompany the unchanged qualified 1.0 installer. Keep the license with redistributed copies and preserve the existing third-party notices. Future source builds embed constellation/LICENSE; package metadata now identifies MIT.
The MIT licensing update used revision c469f91. The illustrated PDF and standalone Markdown guide are unchanged. The v1.0.0 runtime tag, original installer bytes, repository visibility and bounded qualification profile remain unchanged. GitHub’s automatic source archives retain the original tagged snapshot.
Public-repository preparation · October 29, 2026
Revision f3bbf64 completes the upstream notice collector: alternative license filenames, README-based license declarations, upstream NOTICE/copyright files and version/hash-pinned sources for omitted notices. The notices supplement accompanies the original installer and is included in the current handoff. Keep it and LICENSE with redistributed copies. Future builds embed the collected material.
Current documentation/handoff sources use f3bbf64. The app archive and runtime tag are unchanged. All published tags use identical pinned non-development dependency versions, so this notice inventory also covers the historical installers. This adds attribution material, not runtime/provider/native qualification. See the publication review and owner handoff and upstream sources.
