What's Changed

  • Introduced a typed return object for MelusineRegex.__call__: MelusineRegexFullMatch (dataclass).
  • MelusineRegex match results are now exposed through explicit attributes:
    • match_result
    • positive
    • neutral
    • negative
  • This improves readability, typing support, and consistency of regex match handling.

Compatibility

  • Backward compatibility is preserved through deprecated legacy access paths.
  • Legacy aliases and dict-like access still work for now, but emit DeprecationWarning.

Deprecations

  • Deprecated legacy fields:
    • positive_match_data -> use positive
    • neutral_match_data -> use neutral
    • negative_match_data -> use negative
  • Deprecated dict-style access on match results (result["..."]) -> use attribute access (result....).

Upgrade Guide

Before:

  • result["match_result"]
  • result.positive_match_data

After:

  • result.match_result
  • result.positive
