Avalonia 12

Hi,
I just tried mapsui 5.1.0-beta.5 on Avalonia 12. I just got a transparent window in both Linux and Windows. I assume mapsui 5.x is for Avalonia 11 only.

Do you have any plans on porting mapsui to Avalonia 12 anytime soon or is mapsui Avalonia 11 the only option short term?

Would it be possible to make mapsui 5.x not compile on Avalonia 12 to make it easier to detect it is not supported. Right now I think the nuget says Avalonia (>= 11.3.1)

I did not look into this yet. I will try to upgrade and check if the issue is fixable. We will not abandon support for Avalonia 11 in v5. So, if we can not support both we you have to wait for a v6 beta.

Is there a branch that I could also assist with this? I'd love to take some of the grunt work off the table and let you handle the in depth parts. I know all the well know places to handle the v12 upgrade. If not I can build one and do all I can.

I introduced a separate Mapsui.UI.Avalalonia12 project with it's own Mapsui.Samples.Avalonia12 project. I compiles and runs in my superficial tests. This was merged to main and will be part of the next release. I did most everything with copilot if you have any specific suggestions to improve things this is always welcome.

As it so happens I am testing an upgrade from v11 to v12 on Mac, and I probably did something wrong because it did not work for me.

I added this

Got version compilation warnings and a crash when using mapsui.

Unhandled exception. System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'Mapsui.Rendering.IRenderInfo' from assembly 'Mapsui, Version=5.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

Thanks for reporting. The Avalonia 12 version was packaged as version 1.0.0. I unlisted it and uploaded the fix https://www.nuget.org/packages/Mapsui.Avalonia12/#versions-body-tab.

oh! This is a bug in our release, it should have a beta 8 and 9. I will look into it.
