Interesting. However, using web technologies in an Android launcher's basic functions may result in weak performance, e.g. high memory usage. It is actually believed that most system launchers should be implemented in a very native way, and Windows 11 is a counterexample. One of the places where a web-based launcher is needed might be NAS admin panels. Examples such as Synology and FnOS are already existed in such field. We (I and Codecrafter) have discussed about this earlier and turned out that we may have a try in the future. Also, most Android devices use capacitive screens as input device, instead of legacy mouse and keyboard that are used on desktop devices. These two ways of input will need very different interfaces to handle, one example is about hovering and clicking, which exist for mouse-controlled systems but not for, or very different for, touchscreen-controlled ones. Therefore, adapting a macOS-like GUI to Android may require a lot of changes (and after those changes we get iOS / iPad OS), which is against the purpose of this project to some extents. This proposal is not feasible for Webintosh with all these existing progress, but it can become a good project if someone decides to build it from scratch in a completely different way. |

I think it can be made into an Android desktop launcher, which will make Android devices more beautiful and practical.(My English is not very good, please forgive me)
