Vamp Assistant 0.10.54 — redesigned macOS workspace
Vamp Assistant 0.10.54
A redesigned macOS workspace with Chats, Devices, and Settings, optional project tools, and inline specialist work.
- Arrange Browser, Code, Simulator, and review tools in nested splits and tab groups. Layouts restore per window and workspace, with a narrow-window pane switcher.
- Keep conversation drafts and attachments across navigation and panel changes; Stop and Queue follow-up remain available during work.
- Use a unified Models & Connections flow and refreshed device permission presentation.
- Warmer charcoal dark surfaces, softer burgundy emphasis, and a single native sidebar toggle.
- Retain the existing Developer ID and signed Sparkle update channel, including existing appearance preferences and stored app data.
Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 15 or later. This release updates the Mac app; the existing iOS download remains available separately.
Validation: 1,134 macOS unit tests, zero failures and 51 existing skips. Full final UI automation remains incomplete because Xcode failed to enable automation mode and native accessibility inspection timed out.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.53 — notarized macOS app and Sparkle updates
Vamp Assistant 0.10.53 (132) is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple through Xcode Organizer Direct Distribution. It adds Sparkle 2.10.0 updates to the app menu and General settings, with signed update feeds and archives.
Download the public ZIP, extract it, and move Vamp Assistant.app to Applications. Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 15 or later. Existing preview users need to install this build once to gain Sparkle updates.
Validation: 1,121 macOS tests (51 intentional skips), 47 iOS tests, both Release builds, deep code signatures, secure timestamps, stapled notarization tickets, Gatekeeper, and Sparkle signatures passed. The ZIP-extracted app was verified independently. A modified update feed was rejected. A full update-installation test requires the next Sparkle-enabled release.

The release tag preserves the source used for this archive, including the existing remote-unlock and Qwen streaming changes. The signing team differs from older development previews, so macOS may request Keychain or privacy access again.
Public iOS IPA downloads have been retired as distribution moves to the App Store. The official App Store link will be shared when available.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.52 — remote unlock display wake
iOS distribution update — October 1, 2026: Public IPA downloads have been retired as distribution moves to the App Store. Official App Store links will be shared when available. Historical release notes and source code remain available.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.52, build 131, updates the Mac host and the iPhone/iPad companion together.
- The Mac host explicitly wakes a sleeping display before entering the login password and keeps it awake during the unlock attempt.
- The iOS unlock button stays reachable above the keyboard. Unlock completes only after the Mac reports an unlocked session; unsuccessful submissions return a visible error.
- Passwords are never stored or logged, and unsuccessful submissions are not automatically replayed.
Validation: 1,121 macOS tests with zero failures (51 skipped), 47 iOS tests passed, and both Release builds passed. DMG signature/version and IPA structure/version/entitlements/checksums verified. Physical lock-screen unlock retesting remains pending.
The macOS DMG is an Apple Development-signed preview, not notarized. The iOS IPA is unsigned for re-signing with AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly, or a personal development profile. Requires Apple Silicon/macOS 15+ and iOS/iPadOS 18+.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.48 — managed inference runtimes
iOS distribution update — October 1, 2026: Public IPA downloads have been retired as distribution moves to the App Store. Official App Store links will be shared when available. Historical release notes and source code remain available.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.48 (127) adds optional, separately installed inference runtimes while preserving the existing GGUF and MLX paths.
- Managed oMLX can reuse prompt caches for verified small MLX models. App-level text, image, unload and fallback checks passed. The Qwen3 0.6B catalog entry offers a small text checkpoint for this path; it is less capable than the larger models.
- Native MLXFast Bonsai and a pinned newer llama.cpp Metal runtime are available as experiments. Both are disabled below 24 GB after longer tests exceeded the 16 GB M4's memory budget. They are not claimed as working speedups on that Mac. Existing Huihui and Bonsai GGUF runtimes are preserved.
- A harness that exits during startup now reports its error instead of crashing the app with SIGPIPE.
- iPhone/iPad retains Photos/Files image attachments, persistent image drafts and queued images, the manual queued-message send action, unload control, and the simpler new-session flow.
Runtimes are installed separately with scripts/install-inference-runtimes.py; they are not bundled in the downloads. Settings remain off by default. See docs/M4-PERFORMANCE-REVIEW.md for pins, measured results, limits and setup.
Distribution: the Apple Silicon Mac DMG is a development-signed preview, not notarized. The iOS IPA is unsigned for AltStore/SideStore/Sideloadly or your own signing workflow.
Validation: 1,059 macOS tests passed (47 opt-in skips), 44 iOS unit/UI tests passed, and live managed oMLX text/image/unload and short Huihui Metal vision/unload gates passed. Longer Metal and MLXFast tests exposed memory limits; those backends remain disabled on 16 GB Macs.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.47 · Chat images
iOS distribution update — October 1, 2026: Public IPA downloads have been retired as distribution moves to the App Store. Official App Store links will be shared when available. Historical release notes and source code remain available.
iPhone chat now accepts images from Photos or Files through the existing + menu. Up to four images appear as removable thumbnails; image-only messages are supported. HEIC photos are converted and resized for the vision backend. Images remain in saved drafts when sending fails, survive queued-message persistence, and are passed as actual pixels to supported models.
Includes the 0.10.46 queued-follow-up recovery and Send button, the Huihui GGUF/projector fix, model unloading, and simpler new-session flow.
Validation: 1,054 Mac tests passed (45 opt-in skips); 43 iOS unit tests plus the image UI flow passed; light and dark UI reviewed. The actual JPEG sent by the iPhone fixture was read successfully by the installed Huihui Qwen3.8 27B Q2_K model with its publisher projector. Explicit unloading released the model and projector. Mac and iOS Release builds passed.
The Mac DMG is a development-signed preview, not notarized. The device IPA is unsigned for AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly, or your own signing workflow. Both host and companion need build 126 for image uploads. SHA-256 files accompany both downloads.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.46 · Queued follow-up recovery
iOS distribution update — October 1, 2026: Public IPA downloads have been retired as distribution moves to the App Store. Official App Store links will be shared when available. Historical release notes and source code remain available.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.46 (build 125) fixes remote follow-ups getting stuck in the queue while the conversation says Ready.
- Sending a follow-up with the same selected model no longer stops and reloads the active model.
- Interrupted runs release their queue reservation so the next saved follow-up can start.
- The iOS queued-message card now has its own send arrow, including when the composer is empty. It uses the existing saved task ID; retries do not create duplicate messages.
- Sending/removing a queued message is serialized, with progress and error handling. Busy and disconnected states disable the send action.
Validation: 1,051 macOS tests passed (45 opt-in tests skipped), 41 iOS unit tests passed, and the queued-message UI flow passed in light and dark mode. The UI flow sent exactly one request with the keyboard open and cleared the queued row after delivery. Release packaging and checksums are verified before publication.
The macOS Apple Silicon DMG is an Apple Development-signed preview for macOS 15 or later, not notarized. The iPhone/iPad IPA requires iOS 18 or later and is unsigned for sideload re-signing. Use both Mac and iOS build 125 for the queue recovery controls.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.45 · Huihui fix and simpler iOS sessions
iOS distribution update — October 1, 2026: Public IPA downloads have been retired as distribution moves to the App Store. Official App Store links will be shared when available. Historical release notes and source code remain available.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.45 updates both the Mac app and iPhone/iPad companion to build 124.
- Fixes “No .gguf weight file found” for full abliterated models, including Huihui Qwen3.8 27B Q2_K. Full weights are no longer mistaken for LoRA adapters.
- Adds an Unload model action to the iOS model picker. It releases the active Mac model without deleting its download and is disabled while that model is busy.
- Simplifies new sessions: choose Chat or Code, enter a message, and start. The app reuses an available model and keeps advanced options collapsed.
- Includes the current Mac UI, agent-harness, and bot reliability updates.
Huihui vision was verified end to end with the publisher's mmproj-model-bf16.gguf: the app correctly read “BONSAI 42” from an image, then unloaded the model and vision projector. Model weights and projectors are separate downloads, not bundled in the app.
Validation: 1,048 macOS unit tests passed, 45 opt-in tests skipped; the live Huihui vision/unload test passed separately. All 40 iOS unit tests and 3 targeted UI tests passed. Both Release builds, Mac signature verification, IPA structure validation, and download-link checks passed.
The Apple Silicon macOS DMG is an Apple Development-signed preview for macOS 15 or later, not notarized. The iPhone/iPad IPA requires iOS 18 or later and is unsigned for re-signing with AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly, or your own signing workflow. Pair iOS build 124 with Mac build 124 to use the unload action.

- Added a screenshot pixel regression check for both states in OLED, Dark, and Light appearances.
macOS build 120 is an Apple Development-signed preview for Apple Silicon and macOS 15 or later. Its designated signing requirement matches the installed 0.10.40 build, preserving the app identity used by existing permissions and Keychain access. The DMG is not notarized.
Verification: 1,031 macOS unit tests passed (45 skipped), the six-state macOS sidebar UI check passed, and 37 iOS companion regression tests passed. The iOS IPA remains at 0.10.39 build 118.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.40 · macOS UI repairs
Vamp Assistant 0.10.40 · macOS UI repairs
- The chat history selection now follows the sidebar's rounded upper-left corner without an empty strip.
- Removed the extra titlebar inset that covered the Bots and Devices headers with a grey band.
- Appearance, Typeface, and Text size controls now stay within the Settings card; narrow windows use native menus when segments cannot fit.
- Prevented slow launches from racing the window-recovery path and opening overlapping windows.
macOS build 119 is an Apple Development-signed preview build for Apple Silicon and macOS 15 or later. The signing requirement matches the previous installed build. This DMG is not notarized.
Verification: 1,031 macOS unit tests passed (45 skipped); 21 macOS UI tests passed in the broad run and the remaining composer check passed after replacing a long XCUITest keystroke sequence with short Shift+Return lines; 37 iOS companion regression tests passed. The iOS IPA remains at 0.10.39 build 118.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.39 · iOS provider setup
iOS distribution update — October 1, 2026: Public IPA downloads have been retired as distribution moves to the App Store. Official App Store links will be shared when available. Historical release notes and source code remain available.
Vamp Assistant 0.10.39 adds provider setup to the native iPhone and iPad app.
- Browse and search built-in API providers and compatible services, with connection status from the paired Mac.
- Save, replace, or remove API keys from iOS. Keys are stored in the Mac Keychain and are never returned to the phone.
- Configure a custom OpenAI-compatible base URL from iOS, and add a model ID when a provider does not publish a usable model list.
- Refresh available models after provider changes and hide saved gateway models when their key is removed.
Install the matching Mac app and iOS app to use phone-side provider setup. The Mac DMG is an Apple Development-signed preview for Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later; it is not notarized. The iOS IPA is unsigned for re-signing with AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly, or a personal signing profile, and requires iOS/iPadOS 18 or later.
Validation: macOS focused provider catalog and authenticated remote-host tests passed; the iOS device build passed. Live provider credential checks require each provider's own key and service. Physical iPhone pairing remains to be validated on device.
