Starting devices for the activity:

Step 1, Step 2:
- Add and rename PC, Laptop, Cable Modem
- To rename a device, click and rename in the Config Tab

Step 3:
- Use copper straight-through cable to connect the PC (FastEthernet0 interface) to the Wireless Router (Ethernet 1)
- Use copper straight-through cable to connect the Wireless Router (Internet) to the Cable Modem (Port 1)
- Use a Coaxial cable to connect Cable Modem (port 0) to the Internet (Coaxial 7)

Step 1: Configure the PC
- Click PC, in Desktop tab, click IP Configuration, enable DHCP, check that you have an IP address
- Verify the PC received an IP, In the Desktop tab, click Command Prompt
- ipconfig /all in the command prompt to verify the PC has an IP (control c to close)
- ping cisco.srv to verify connection to the server (should receive 4 replies)

Step 2: Configure the Laptop
- Click Laptop, Physical tab, power off, drag out the Ethernet network interface card (NIC) with a wireless NIC to connect the Laptop to the router wirelessly, power on
- Click the laptop, select connect tab, connect to HomeNetwork
- Close PC Wireless and select Web Browser in the Desktop tab, navigate to cisco.srv to confirm connection
