Try to install any previous version by clicking "Install another version..."

Raise following pop-up:

In combination with 2053 this issue does not allow me to use VS Code for python - without autocomplete it is hard to code any serious project.

As there is a huge bug in last release #12216. It would be great to have a fix.
Is there a workaround ?

You can download .vsix artifacts from here (e.g. https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-python/releases/download/2020.5.80290/ms-python-release.vsix). Then take a look here on how to install the extension from .vsix file.

I am hitting this with Docker extension as well. We are reaching out to marketplace to figure out what is going on.

This would be great to fix as I'm having an issue with the newest release of this extension (as are others it seems) and it would be good to roll back without having to manually install an older version of the extension

Closing this in favor of microsoft/vscode#99699 . This is an issue with marketplace, and they are looking into it.
