Optimizing find and replace in selection

If one want to change many things in a file, the find and replace hangs a little bit.

1.

If one choose only in selection and then select some other lines, code does not find / look for the search string by clicking replace / all; one must first click in searchfield again and then replace / all.

2.

If one only select a whole line or a part of it by one- or double-clicking - code does not recognize this as selection. One must select more than one line (both the same; with one-click-selection or double-click)

Thats a little bit annoying
