The current documentation says that -credential is for admin credentials to add a package source. I believe it is instead the credentials required to access an authenticated feed location.

You can observe that this parameter is for the package source by leaving it off while trying to register an authenticated source location. The error is "Cannot access FEED_URL. Are you missing 'Credential' parameter in the cmdlet?"
