Added

  • Links: share a link to Open on on the phone and it opens in the PC's browser. Copy a link on the PC and click Open on phone in the tray (or press Ctrl+Alt+L); it arrives on the phone as a notification with Open, Copy and Share.
  • Phone remote: control the PC from the phone's new Control screen and Home card. Change or mute the PC's volume (also under the PC's music on Home), lock it, put it to sleep, shut it down or restart it, and run your own commands set up on the PC.
  • Touchpad, keyboard and slides remote on the phone: move the PC's pointer, click, scroll and type (with Esc, Tab, Del, arrows, Home and End, Ctrl, Alt and Win for the next key, and voice typing), and present with big Next and Previous buttons, Start, Black and End, a timer and optionally the volume keys. Touchpad and keyboard are off until you switch them on in the PC's Settings › Phone remote.
  • Camera mirroring: the mirror window's stream panel can show the phone's back or front camera instead of its screen (Android 12 or later, no sound), for example to show something in a video call. The phone's Camera on PC button opens it, and the phone's notice says the camera is visible.
  • Full-screen mirroring: F11, the new title-bar button or a double-click on the title bar shows the phone across the whole monitor, with a toolbar that appears when you move the mouse. Esc leaves full screen.
  • Settings › Phone remote on Windows: choose what the phone may do (volume, touchpad and keyboard, slides remote, camera, lock, sleep, shut down, restart), whether links from the phone open right away or ask first, and add commands (a program, script or command line). Shut down and Restart are off until you switch them on and always ask on the phone first, and every remote action shows a notification on the PC.
  • New packets orbit.url, orbit.remote.caps, orbit.remote.run, orbit.remote.result, orbit.volume.state, orbit.volume.set, orbit.input, orbit.slides, orbit.focus.watch and orbit.focus. orbit.mirror.state gains source and camera, and orbit.mirror.cmd start gains source. Older apps ignore them (protocol version unchanged).

Changed

  • The website has a new design: a scroll-animated hero, a features overview, an interactive connection diagram, security, install steps and an FAQ, with rewritten copy. The README has matching wording and light and dark screenshots.

Install

Windows: run OrbitSetup-1.3.0.exe. Android: install Orbit-1.3.0-android.apk (or use Install on phone / Update over USB in the Windows app). Check downloads against SHA256SUMS.txt.
