do we have populate in mongoengine ? as we have in mongodb?

populate is used when

we want to populate a attribute from a element in parent table with only mongoodse id

I guess you are looking for the ReferenceField, the referenced field is populated through lazy-loading (on access), but you can also use select_related to have it populated upfront
