Well, I'm making some progress. First of all, I found ONE company that understands what I’m telling them about the MHI2, and that’s offering to fix my mistakes for €400, not including shipping. If this can help anyone—and I hope people don’t think this is an ad—the company is RMS Autotechnik Annecy. Admittedly, they told me they don’t do it themselves, but that they outsource the work to a company that knows how to do it—but out of at least 20 companies, including ecu.de, they’re the only ones who offered to do it. Otherwise, if the UART is working, the update process I need to follow is as follows:
Problem: On https://mibsolution.one, I found the last 3, but not the first 2. Does anyone have links for the first 2? Finally, I need to check the infamous byte 17 of module 5F via OBD, even though it’s unlikely. If it accidentally changed to 0 (if only!!!), setting it back to 1 might get me out of the boot loop. But I don’t hold out much hope. |

Well, I should be able to get by with just two versions via the UART:
Actually, I would have liked to have found the MHI2_ER_SEG11_P0674 (MU0674 ???) version before moving on to P3302; it might be easier to find than the two older ones (S0257/MU0123 & S2130/MU0355). Same thing—if you have a link... |

OK, that was a typo! So actually, mibsolution-one DOES have all the versions needed to upgrade from my S0257 to the latest one:

Hi there, I have created a similar set of symptoms on my Audi. Did you manage to remedy yours using the steps you outlined above? |

Hi,
I have tried to upgrade my MIB2 High (8", jukebox). I have the MHI2_ER_SEG11_S0257 version, original from 2015. I have used the mib-helper.com website, which told me that my latest official firmware update is: MHI2_ER_SEG11_P4709. There wasn't a single word or mention of any incompatibility between the two versions when upgrading, the need to install several successive versions before attempting the latest one, as indicated. So, I have flashed. And now, I have only the Seat Any Connect animation - and that's all. A solid brick. Nothing works except for a hard reset, which restarts the animation and then freezes. I tried the automatic installation of M.I.B., but to no avail; the SD card probably isn't even mounted. At this point (I think the IFS is corrupted), I don't think the DLink DUB E100 d1 is useful; I'll need to switch to UART at the very least. So the questions:
I looked around Europe to see if any company offered a repair service for my MIB2 in this case, and at what price, but I couldn't find anything.
With no answers, I'd have to spend several hundred euros to buy a used MIB2 High Seat... Help! Any advice, opinions, or links would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Alain
