Admin Overview

MrJSA edited this page Oct 27, 2026 · 1 revision

How the admin dashboard (https://admin.example.com) is organised.

Layout

  • Sidebar (left) — the five sections of the admin. Click a section to open it; its pages are listed underneath.
  • Top of every page — the tabs of the current section. They always show all pages of the section, so you can switch between e.g. All Orders and Withdrawals without going back to the sidebar.
  • Top right
    • your account (username and email) — change your username, email and password
    • logout
  • Bottom left
    • Open Storefront (orange) — opens your shop in a new browser tab
    • PostgreSQL Active — the shop is connected to its database

Admins and editors only see the sections they were given in Settings → Admin Users & Access; superadmins see everything.

How to fill in the settings the first time is described in First Steps.

Product reviews

  1. Switch reviews on in Settings → Shop Features & Legal → Product reviews. Only customers who bought a product can review it.
  2. New reviews wait in Products → Product Reviews (filter Waiting). Click Approve or Reject.
  3. Only approved reviews appear in the shop. Approve negative reviews too — hiding them would be misleading (§ 5b UWG).

Newsletter

  1. Switch it on in Settings → Shop Features & Legal → Newsletter (double opt-in). Customers can then sign up in the footer and with an unticked box at checkout. They only receive newsletters after confirming their address by email.
  2. Write it in Storefront & Design → Newsletter. Formatting: ## Headline, **bold**, *italic*, [text](https://link), lines starting with - become a list. Logo, layout and the unsubscribe link are added automatically.
  3. Click Send test to check it in your own inbox, then Send to … subscriber(s) to send it to all confirmed subscribers.

The page also lists sent newsletters and the subscribers with proof of consent (time and IP of sign-up and confirmation). Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days.

Withdrawals

When a customer uses the withdrawal button in the shop, they automatically receive a confirmation of receipt by email and the withdrawal appears in Orders & Slips → Withdrawals.

  1. Check the order (the shop matches it by order number and email; if not, check manually).
  2. Refund the payment within 14 days — for goods, once they are back or the customer proved sending them — with the refund button in the order. The credit note is created automatically.
  3. Click Mark processed. You can add a note for your records.
