Feature request: Allow configuration of window position of Minecraft

Can we have adjustible starting position for Minecraft window?
Other launchers have it, and I think it can be made in a very similar way to configuring initial window size.

Window positioning is up to the window manager that is part of the OS... I don't think there's a sane way to interact with that as anything other than Minecraft itself... you can get into weird situations with mods opening more windows, or dialog boxes, and that getting mistaken for the actual main window...

What do those numbers mean on a multi monitor setup?

What do those numbers mean at all? I assume it is in pixels. And what is at those coords? The window border? The actual game?

The game itself does not support this at all, in any version. This means whatever the old FTB launcher is doing is likely a fragile hack/workaround.

In legacy versions (1.5.2 and older), I can sort of see this working, because I can take the whole game and stick it in my own window, and then take over all the interaction with the OS window manager. You can't do that in anything newer than 1.5.2, because you can't embed the game in custom windows anymore.

You are right. I have found this feature only in FTB, and it does not work even there. I have definitely seen it in other launchers too, but I do not remember where, and it is not present in the latest versions. Apparently it become so difficult to implement that they have removed it.
