Format Json does not work when text is in "Other View"

While there is text in the Notepad++ main view I can select it and then use the Format JSON command from JSON-Viewer. However, if I use the Notepad++ Move Document feature to "Move to Other View" and then again select the text and try to use the Format JSON command from JSON-Viewer it does not do anything. I suspect this is a plugin bug because a similar function in the "XML Tools" plugin works as expected.
