Sionna RT v1.1: Exporting 3D Radio Maps Using Measurement Surface in RM Solver

I'm effectively utilizing the measurement_surface feature added in Sionna RT v1.1 for radio map (RM) solver, and have customized it to suit my specific requirements.

The tutorial at Radio Maps on Meshes shows code snippet [26] that generates 3D radio maps. I'm curious if there's a way to export these results as 3D objects.

I specifically require exportable 3D coverage maps. Currently, I'm:

• Taking RM solver outputs (mesh coordinates and corresponding color maps)
• Importing them into Blender
• Manually creating 3D coverage maps
• Export 3D coverage maps as .glb

I'd like to know if Sionna RT has built-in capability to directly export 3D coverage maps, which would streamline my workflow significantly.

I'm not sure exactly what the final exported 3D coverage maps should look like for your needs, but the mi.Mesh that you choose as a measurement surface has a write_ply() method (docs) that you can use to save it out.
It also saves face attributes.

So one solution would be to take the radio map results, map them to e.g. per-triangle colors, and add those colors to the measurement surface via Mesh.add_attribute() (docs). By convention the name given to your attribute should start with "face_" if it's a per-face attribute.
Then, you could save the mesh to .ply and it should include the data.
