Movies & TV shows

• An episode or movie whose stream cuts out mid-way no longer restarts from the beginning: the player reconnects and continues where it stopped.

Google TV / Chromecast

• After typing in a text field, the remote's arrows leave the field again (the 1.0.52 fix did not work on Google TV's keyboard).

Windows

Windows remains at 1.0.45. This release contains an Android APK only; Windows has not been rebuilt or tested for these changes. Its existing download remains available on the website and the 1.0.45 release.

Media Hub

• New look: the title you're on fills the top of the page with its logo art, a "Movie • Genre • Year • runtime" line, its IMDb rating and four lines of description, over a bigger backdrop.
• Wide focused card: the card you're on turns into a wide picture with the title's logo; the others stay posters.
• New left panel: the same glass look as the top bar. It folds into a slim strip of icons while you browse the rows, and opens again when you press Left.
• Search moved to the left panel: press OK on Search and pick Movies or TV Shows from the small menu that slides out. Phones keep Search in the top bar.
• Expanded catalog shows the focused title's backdrop and details at the top.

Sports Trak

• Rugby: Six Nations, Premiership, URC, Top 14, Champions Cup, Super Rugby Pacific, Rugby World Cup, Test matches and NRL, with scores and tables.
• Cricket: IPL, Big Bash, PSL, SA20, CPL and T20 Blast, with fixtures and runs (no tables).
• PDC darts: one card per tournament day (no individual matches or scores).
• Add them in League manager under Rugby, Cricket and Darts.
• Team ranks: team names show their table position, like Blackhawks (15); college teams show their poll ranking.
• Watch game button (off by default, Settings > Sports Trak): when a game you set a reminder for starts, a Watch game button appears in the player. Up from the player bar, then OK, switches to the game.
• Goals alert for a whole league: hold OK on a game, or on a league in League manager.
• Goal alerts show who scored when the sports feed has it.
• Better channel finding for fights, including channels that only name one fighter (Canelo).
• Sports Mode rows scroll only as far as needed and no longer slide under the side panels.
• Fixed: on days when the clocks change, tomorrow's games were missing and the day strip's "tomorrow" showed today.

Player

• Up Next setting (Settings > Playback > Up Next): start the next episode 30 seconds before the end, when the episode ends, or never.
• Hold Right to resume no longer also jumps to the last channel.

Google TV / Chromecast

• The D-pad can leave a text field after typing (the on-screen keyboard used to trap it).

Windows

New

• German: Deutsch is now in Settings > General > Language, and is picked automatically on German devices.
• Expanded catalog: a new look for the full poster grid. The focused title, year and rating show at the top over its backdrop, with the grid below. Turn on Settings > Interface > Tabs > Open groups as expanded catalog to open Movies and TV Shows groups straight into it.
• Support and Discord: Settings has a Support VesperTV entry (a coffee or a Supporter membership; the app stays free, no ads, same app for everyone) and, under Device & data, a Discord entry with a QR code for direct support.

Live TV guide

• New Guide settings page under Settings > Interface. The Live TV guide options moved there from Theme.
• Compact guide: shorter Timeline rows, so more channels fit in the same space.
• Custom EPG URL: Settings > EPG > General lets you pick a playlist and paste your own XMLTV link for it.

Sports Trak

• Sports Mode: Right on a channel in the Live TV guide closes the guide and moves into the games. In the game feed, OK plays the game, and OK again opens it full screen (Right no longer jumps to full screen).
• Transparent popups: goal alerts and reminders can drop their background and outline, leaving only the logo and text. Settings > Interface > Goals alert, with a Show a test popup button to preview it.

Settings and startup

• Fast startup is now on by default. The app opens without waiting for Movies and TV Shows to load; they fill in a few seconds later. Your own choice is kept if you changed it. Settings > General > Startup.
• Resume reminder pill is off by default. Turn it on under Settings > Playback > Resume reminder.
• Media Hub playback (largest-file option) moved to the Media Hub category.
• Switch rows in Settings have proper spacing inside their outline.

Media Hub and IPTV

• Plex support: connect your own Plex server from the shared Jellyfin / Emby / Plex connector. Approve sign-in with a code or QR, then browse its movie and TV libraries and play original files.
• Server files from tracker lists: titles opened from Simkl, Trakt or compatible catalog lists now find matching files on connected Plex, Jellyfin and Emby servers.
• IPTV actor portraits: add your own TMDB key to see cast portraits and actor credits on IPTV movie and show pages. Quality prefixes such as 4K: no longer obstruct title lookup.
• Customize title pages: choose the order of cast, related titles and collections, including putting actors first.

Android playback

• Skip intro, recap and credits: episode buttons appear when timings are available from IntroDB. Credits can offer the next episode. Enabled by default; change it under Settings > Playback > Skip intro. IPTV shows can use the viewer's TMDB key when provider IDs are missing. Press Up from the player bar to reach the skip button on a remote.
• Phone touch lock: tap the open padlock in the player bar to block accidental taps, swipes and Back while video continues. Tap the visible closed padlock to unlock.

Sports Trak

• Channel preferences: Settings > Sports Trak adds preferred channel countries and a preferred playlist. Other matching channels remain available, and saved channel choices retain priority.
• My Teams: hold a team to set its preferred channel, even when it has no game today.
• Hide empty leagues: optionally hide leagues with no games on the selected day; saved leagues remain in Edit leagues.
• Cleaner league bar: short labels such as AHL, EPL, UCL and F1 save space. Full names remain in Edit leagues. Prefer highest quality moves to Settings > Sports Trak with your saved choice retained.
• Betting odds: optional lines and over/under appear where the sports feed supplies them. Off by default, under Settings > Sports Trak > Betting odds. Display only.

Updates

• Android checks free storage before downloading an update, verifies the downloaded APK size, and clears the previous cached installer at the next launch. New messages include French, Spanish, Italian and Greek translations.

Search

• Fixed: global search was slow. Typing lagged and the app stayed sluggish for a while after leaving Search. Media Hub results now arrive in a few calm steps instead of redrawing the page for every source, and matching titles is much lighter on TV boxes.

Settings

• New: From phone for the TMDB key (Settings > TMDB) and for Custom posters (Settings > Media Hub > Custom posters). Scan the QR code, paste the key or poster address on your phone, then check it on the TV and press Save. Your phone and TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi.

Sports Mode

• Fixed: after watching a channel full screen from the Live TV guide, the selector came back behind the guide and the arrows scrolled the sports page under it. It now returns to the guide.

Media Hub

• New: Settings > Media Hub > Custom posters. Paste a poster service's address with {imdb_id} (or {tmdb_id}) where the title goes, for example a service that adds ratings to posters, with your own key if it needs one. Media Hub posters then come from it everywhere: rows, Home, search and title pages. Titles without the ID keep their normal poster; leave the address empty to turn it off.
• Fixed: on title pages, the More like this and Cast and credits rows scroll steadily with the remote instead of jumping around. The page follows the row you are on, and going back up to Explore more no longer scrolls the page down.

Media Hub

• Play opens the source picker right away. Streams appear as each add-on answers; a slow or failing source shows its own status (Loading, No streams, Retry) without holding up the others.
• Stream rows show the advertised format, file size and subtitle count. The picker gear (or Media Hub > Customize > gear) sets playback preferences per profile: auto-play, preferred source and audio language, maximum quality and Prefer SDR.
• Next episode stays on the same release when the add-on provides one. The Sources drawer during playback fills in as results arrive.
• New Continue watching and Upcoming episodes rows show the episode, progress and a Resume or Next action. Progress is shared when the same title comes from different catalogs.
• Customize lets you show, hide, pin, move and rename rows. Hiding a row never disables its playback source.
• With your TMDB key, title pages add the collection, More like this and cast credits (open an actor for their movies and shows). Without a key, matching genres from your catalogs are suggested.
• Search shows results as they arrive, with a per-source filter and status.
• Subtitles supplied with a stream are all offered, and add-ons that need request headers now play.
• Fixed: on a movie page, going back up to Play now scrolls the page back to the top.

Live TV

• Right on a live channel jumps to the last channel you watched. Press Right again to flip between the two.
• Fixed: on some boxes (Xiaomi Mi Box), live channels froze after a few minutes with no error. The player now keeps playing when another app briefly takes the sound, and reconnects when the provider's server closes the stream.
• Fixed: Recent channels could stop saving until the app restarted.

Sports Mode and Sports Trak

• First OK previews a matched game; another OK on that playing game opens full screen. Hold keeps its game menu or feed stats.
• In the Sports Mode TV layout, start with the big player beside the game feed. Browse down to the cards for the small player; changing games there keeps the cards visible. Up from the first row restores the big player.
• Matchups include available leaders, team stats, standings and injuries. Pregame teams line up with their logos, with injuries centered. Hide scores also hides result-revealing details.
• Sidebar league reorder uses Up/Down; horizontal rows use Left/Right. Moving between the sidebar and top row preserves focus. All lists every enabled league, including those off screen.
• Live TV stays inside Sports Mode: OK previews a channel in the sports player; OK again opens full screen. Right from closed-guide groups enters the page; Left from the page returns to the open panel.
• Back opens the sidebar while playback continues, then stops playback from the sidebar, then leaves the root. An open Live TV panel closes through its guide and groups first.

Remote and profiles

• The remote Guide/EPG button opens the live guide, including the Formuler EPG key. In Sports Mode it opens the in-page panel and keeps the current game playing while you browse.
• With Launch with profiles selector enabled, leaving the TV or Sports Mode root stops playback and returns to Who's watching. Back there asks to exit.

Multiview

• Android 1 + 3 gains Swap mode: use the arrows to rotate playing screens through the big screen without reconnecting. Sound follows the big screen; OK or Back finishes. The hold menu now scrolls and fits the TV.

Choose your profile at startup

• New optional Settings > General > Startup > Launch with profiles selector. After the splash, choose from your profiles in a frosted glass window; a short animation opens the app in the selected profile.
• Shows your profile photos, focuses the last-used profile, and supports remote, mouse and touch. Existing parental PIN protection still applies. The switch is off by default and takes effect on the next full restart.

Sports Mode improvements (beta)

• A Menu gathers Home, Search, Multiview and other app shortcuts. On phones and narrow layouts, it leaves more room for leagues and games; Back from content opens the Menu first.
• On TV layouts, Live TV opens channel groups and a translucent channel guide inside Sports Mode. Choose a group, then a channel to watch full screen. Back returns to the guide, then groups, then sports. CH+/CH- or Page Up/Page Down move eight rows.
• Open full Live TV opens the regular TV screen whenever you want its complete guide and controls. Narrow and touch layouts continue opening that regular screen directly.
• Sports Mode remains an optional beta feature, enabled per profile in Settings > Interface. Please report remote or layout problems through Settings > Send log.

Media Hub

• When a provider advertises a large, cached file but returns a tiny error video, VesperTV can now show link failed at the provider and reopen the picker without that failed option. This check applies to initial playback; provider availability still depends on your source.

⚠️ After updating: refresh once

Catch-up needs fresh data the first time. Open Update Content (left menu) and update your playlists, then go to Settings > Playlists & guide > EPG and press Update EPG Now. Do this once; after that it stays up to date on its own.

New: Catch-up TV (Android TV, Fire TV, phones)

Watch shows that already aired on channels where your provider offers catch-up (Xtream tv_archive, and M3U catchup / catchup-days / tvg-rec playlists).

• Timeline guide: press Left past the last hour to go back in time. Shows you can replay have a gold ↺ mark. Hours older than your provider's guide appear as Catch-up HH:MM blocks.
• OK on a past show plays it in the preview; OK again goes full screen.
• Back to now: Back in the guide returns to the current time (a second Back goes to the groups). The gold Now button does the same with touch or a mouse.
• Player: a CATCH-UP tag, previous / next show, Watch from the start, a seek bar, and how far behind live you are. The gold LIVE button (or ⏩ on remotes that have it) jumps back to live.
• Keeps playing: when a past show ends, the next one starts on its own until you reach live.
• Pause = timeshift: pause a catch-up channel for more than 90 seconds and Play resumes from where you paused.
• Watch from the start: hold OK on a show in the guide, or use the button in the player (⏪ on remotes that have it), to restart the show on now from its beginning.
• Only channels your provider marks for catch-up get these options; other channels behave as before. Windows support is coming later.

Also new

• Refined finish (Settings > Interface > Theme): optional glass look with reflections and soft depth; the TV columns stay see-through over live video.
• Aqua colour theme.
• Sports Trak: set a reminder on any upcoming game card, not only your teams'.

Fixes and improvements

• Audio and subtitle choices now refresh for each live channel, with readable track names (language, codec, channel layout).
• Data pool reports the decoder's HDR mode when the stream doesn't say.
• Fixed a rare case where two quick channel changes could leave a hidden stream open and use one of your provider's connections.
