Two days ago, a handful of people posted raw hex dumps from their straps in a GitHub issue. Tonight, WHOOP 4.0 sleep and recovery decode on a firmware that never worked before β built entirely from those dumps. That's the loop that makes NOOP work: you bring the data, it becomes a feature, fast.
This is a thank-you, a progress report, and β honestly β an ask.
What we shipped in the last ~48 hours
mainβ NOOP is now a three-platform project (macOS Β· Android Β· iOS), all from one source tree. (Build-from-source only; it stays anonymous.)brew tap noopapp/noop && brew trust noopapp/noop && brew install --cask noop.By the numbers
Everything stays on your device β no account, no cloud, no sync.
The honest part β and the ask
There's no company here. No investors, no team, no salary. It's one person, anonymous on purpose, paying for all of it out of pocket β test hardware, time, and the heavy AI dev-tooling that's the entire reason one person can ship 42 releases in 48 hours. That tooling is the single biggest cost, and it runs well into the thousands.
NOOP is, and always will be, free β no paywall, no pro tier, no nag. But "free for you" isn't "free to make," and one unpaid person doing all of this isn't sustainable. If the last 48 hours showed you anything, it's that this works: your reports turn into features in hours. If you want that to keep happening, this is the moment to chip in.
Bitcoin is easiest (even $5β10 genuinely helps):
ETH:
0xd64D508b531c4b1297Ca4023C774e0E97aA67B7Fβ other coins (ADA, XRP) + a 2-minute "never used crypto" guide are in docs/DONATIONS.md. Crypto only, because staying anonymous rules out PayPal/Patreon.Not into donating? That helps just as much: β star the repo, file a good bug, share a strap log (one hex capture unlocked v25 sleep for everyone on that firmware), test on hardware you own, or tell another WHOOP user. See the data we need β for specific ways to move this forward.
42 releases. 62 of you. One weekend. Thank you. π
