This wiki replaces the working documents below. Their content is consolidated here. Where they differed, the most recent one took precedence.

Document Dates What came from it
OCL-OpenMRS Collection-based Dictionary Management 2026 Q4 (Google Doc) September–October 2026; read on 2026-10-28 The objective, use cases and focus areas, the scenarios and their tables, the definitions, the first two rules, the ranked-list requirements, and the notes on equivalency-aware expansion
Equivalency rules draft 2026-10-28 Rules 1 to 6, their alternatives, how they resolve each scenario, and the fixes to the scenario tables
Managing OMRS Dictionaries as OCL Collections and Avoiding Duplicate Concepts (Google Doc) April–August 2026 Background: how cloning substitutes equivalents today, the problem with collections, why it's hard, source precedence, the comparison of the two approaches, and the questions for the community
Draft tables for scenarios 1, 2, 4 and 4b (three Google Docs) October 2026 Nothing new: their tables were already in the main document. The scenario tables here were generated again from OCL's data

Changes made while consolidating

  • Scenario results are labelled by result ("Follows PIH" or "Follows CIEL") rather than by step order. In scenarios 4 and 4b, the two results had been under each other's headings.
  • Rule 1's rationale is corrected. The retired mapping it relied on points to a code with no concept in PIH (Data notes).
  • Rule 3 has all four options. The union continues below the first level, and the literal step-by-step reading is listed as its own option.
  • The scenario tables were generated again from OCL's data, and they match the earlier tables.
