Rename master branch to main

I don't think this will affect many people - perhaps not even Zoltan and Carlo.

This renaming would bring the repo in line with current git defaults for new repositories. Many (perhaps even most) large repositories have made the change.

I think it would be a small token of inclusivity to do this. The git ecosystem is moving towards main as the new default, on the grounds that master/slave terminology is (for many cultures) heavily loaded with historical injustice. I'm sure most people can deal with a git branch name - but they shouldn't have to.

It's a positive move, even if it is a small token gesture. Slavery was (and is) very serious indeed, so I accept that we shouldn't use that language lightly, as a trivial metaphor or analogy in computing.

It might even help with one of my workflows, since I usually keep master out of sync, and now it would just be an almost forgotten fork.

It would be also fun to see if it actually breaks some of the assumptions made by other git related tools I use like Jujutsu or Got
