I am writing to seek clarification on the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certified Cybersecurity Technician (C|CT) certifications offered by EC-Council.
I understand that the CEH certification now comprises two parts:
CEH (Knowledge-based): Assessed through a multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam.
CEH (Practical): A six-hour hands-on challenge.
Candidates who complete both components achieve the CEH Master designation.
The C|CT is positioned as an entry-level certification, however, the exam format appears to be quite advanced, featuring Capture-The-Flag (CTF) style challenges with MCQs and hands-on components. This suggests a strong emphasis on practical skills and tool proficiency.
Based on my understanding, the certifications could be ranked in terms of difficulty and practical emphasis as follows: CEH Practical > CCT > CEH (Knowledge-based).
In light of this, I would like to understand if it is rationale to split the CEH certification.. and reorganized the hierarchy of the certification?
