Do I have to write a script to scrape data or can I just do some data entry and submit?

I'm looking to add data for Japanese languages, my plan was to just play through the games and do some data entry for fun/to strengthen my Japanese skills, but I see in some of the issues it's suggested that people modify/make a new script to extract the data from the games directly.

Would it be acceptable if I just add entries as I come across them in game then submit PRs after a sizable chunk or do you guys require a repeatable method of acquiring the data?
