Can not compile for ESP32 missing @micropython.viper and native

Hi! You made a interresting piece of software. But i can not compile different modules because you use micropython decorators viper and nativ. These decorators are not implemented in the ESP32 ports.
When i delete these decorators i have at least the problem of
File "/lib/lcd_bus/_basebus.py", line 97, in _swap_bytes
TypeError: 'memoryview' object doesn't support item assignment
Has anyone tried these modules with ESP32?

I apologize for taking so long to reply. I use ESP32 and ESP32-S3 boards for development, and they definitely work with viper and native on MicroPython. If you are using CircuitPython, you don't need lcd_bus at all. Please try again and let me know if you have any trouble.

Hi bdbarnett! I am sorry, but with the standard implementation of micropython for the port esp32, i get a syntax error, when i have a function like that in my code.
@micropython.viper def myfunction(a:int)->float: j:int x:int = 1 return 1.0
SyntaxError: invalid micropython decorator

probably this is different for CircuitPython?

ESP32C3/C6 (RISCV) do not yet have viper/native in micropython as of version1.23. There is work on this and a pull request in progress. micropython PR 15231

Hi @getznerh,

Much has changed with the MPDisplay project. For now, it is still hosted at the same place, but it is now named PyDevices. If you can, please try it again. It should work on any ESP32 MCU, even if the MCU doesn't support Viper.
