Sonoff S20 can't add to Homekit

Gentlemen -

Going nuts trying to add a Sonoff S20 to Homekit.

Here's the config:

Basically used this example and removed the "d": 3600 and changed the type from 1 (switch) to 2 (outlet). An online json editor I used to do this confirms all is good/green.

The WiFi credentials are definitely ok as I can see the Sonoff's MAC address in the list of connected devices on the router.

I have several WiFi networks but per recommendations both the phone running the Home App and the Sonoff are connected to the same one.

Yet it does not appear when attempting Add Accessory / More options... and scanning the code anyway expectedly results in a blank Add to Home window and Accessory Already in Another Home, which I understand is a misleading error as HomeKit simply does not detect the device.

I of course made sure the HomeKit code was reset, no pairings, etc.

I can only get to the set up page and the Sonoff's AP by BOTH unplugging the selected Wi-Fi AP and using the emergency setup mode plug/unplug/plug routine. If I don't disconnected this home AP the device AP appears briefly and disappears. I have to make sure the Sonoff has nothing to connect to in order to enter emergency setup.

PS The idea of the config was to have a HomeKit outlet with a working button/status LED.

PPS Incidentally, the button and the LED do NOT work although I expected it to work regardless of whether the outlet was paired with HomeKit or not. Evidence of a config error?

I'd appreciate any pointers.

Thanks - good catch - copy pasted the wrong text. I did get one outlet to work, actually, but am stuck with the other ones.

The are on Peregrine, so I assume I need to upgrade the firmware first.

I log in, select Firmware upgrade, select the Wi-Fi network, punch in the password, and hit save. It goes offline forever. As discussed previously, I suspect it connects to the selected wifi after the firmware upgrade and I cannot enter the setup mode to input the new script.

The HAA Manager expectedly shows nothing neither in the Setup Radar nor anywhere else as the device is not paired with HomeKit.

The emergency setup routine on-a quick off-on does display the device AP and if I am quick enough I can actually connect, but the device AP disappears within a few seconds before I can even paste in the 192.168.4.1:4567 into the browser, never to reappear.

What is the correct procedure? Or do I need to switch off the home WiFI network iso it has nothing to connect to? So much for an 'emergency' setup...
