Configuration Files

Epoch stores all settings in a single JSON file that you can export, edit by hand and import again. The complete reference lives in the code repository, next to the example configurations:

  • Config manual: every key, the tab format, value types, time zones, date and time format tokens
  • Example configurations: ready to import, in English and German, with screenshots

Quick start

  1. Settings → Export preferences
  2. Edit the file in a text editor
  3. Settings → Import preferences

On Linux you can also start Epoch with a config file: epoch config.json.

Zone names in config files are IANA IDs. How to find them: Time Zone Search.
