ChatDock Beta Build 1.6
New in Beta Build 1.6
- Several monitors, your way: a new Monitors & position page in Settings shows a map of your monitors, where they really are, with their own names (such as “DELL U2720Q” or “Built-in screen”).
- Automatic (the default): push the mouse against the outer edge of any monitor and the chat opens there. The map lights up exactly the edges that work.
- Or pick one monitor (click it on the map): the chat always opens there. It is remembered by the monitor itself, so the choice survives unplugging it and Windows renumbering its screens; while it is unplugged, ChatDock works as Automatic and goes back to it when it returns.
- If the picked monitor's edge touches another monitor (so the mouse can't stop there), the page says so and offers the other edge when that one is free.
- Show numbers on the screens puts a big number card on every monitor, and resting the mouse on a monitor in the map lights up that screen, so you know which is which.
- Pop-ups can show on the chat's monitor, wherever the mouse is, or the main monitor.
- Settings redesigned: a home page with search and a one-line summary under each category (how it is set right now), then a short page per category: General, Monitors & position, Opening the chat, Appearance, Chat apps, Notifications, Privacy & security, Updates, About. Search works in your language and in English.
- Updating to 1.6 ends with the What's new window, like 1.5.3 does.
Install
Already have ChatDock? Press Update when the update pop-up comes (or Check for updates in Settings → Updates). From an Electron version (1.4 or older), the installer replaces the old copy by itself and keeps your logins.
New here? Download ChatDock_1.6.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. The installer isn't code-signed with a Windows certificate, so SmartScreen may warn: choose More info → Run anyway.
