Getting error when transcoding: "WARNING: The convert command is deprecated in IMv7"

Running with podman: podman compose run --rm caesura transcode <url> I get this error at the end:

2026-02-06 21:55:32.571 ERRO ! Failed to resize image
2026-02-06 21:55:32.572 ERRO ! A convert error occurred
2026-02-06 21:55:32.572 ERRO ! WARNING: The convert command is deprecated in IMv7, use "magick" instead of "convert" or "magick convert"

My system:

$ uname -a
Linux debian 6.17.2-1-pve #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC PMX 6.17.2-1 (2025-10-21T11:55Z) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Anybody seen this error? Could it be I have some wrong libraries, or it could be some internal issue of caesura?

Thanks for reporting this. I intend to remove the imagemagick dependency and replace it with the image crate anyway so this will be resolved soon.

What version are you using? can you run podman compose run --rm caesura --version?

Strange. that docker image has been out for 4 months and nobody has mentioned that image resizing is broken.

Fix is now on the main branch. Not sure when it will be published as a release: d405898
