I'm exploring a potential fix for the extension freeze issue during initialization. I'll investigate the initialization process and work on improving stability, particularly for Windows/WSL2 environments.

I've opened PR #8463 to address this issue: #8463

The fix adds timeout protection to the ProviderSettingsManager initialization to prevent the extension from freezing indefinitely. The key changes include:

• Added a configurable timeout (default 10 seconds) to the initialization process
• Made initialization non-blocking so the extension can continue loading
• Added proper error handling to prevent infinite retry loops
• Ensured all public methods wait for initialization before proceeding

This should resolve the freezing issue while maintaining backward compatibility. The PR is currently going through CI checks. Please feel free to test the changes and provide feedback!
