This document explores SNA on Hyperion, using the below SNA README from hyperion's Github documentation as the starting point. This is written from a server/networking specialist's perspective.

SNA

Hyperion is a branch of Hercules with special properties. One of the features it that it implements is IBM's SNA Technology. This is achieved by using a network interface known as LCS. This is the LAN Channel Interface, and is equivalent to an ethernet network interface.

Documentation and ideas to be posted here later in 2024. This may include using Hyperion with IBM Personal Communications 3270 on Windows 95/2000, Microsoft SNA Server, IBM OS/2 Communications Server, Novell Netware SAA (NWSAA) and others. We will explore simplistic setups using OS/390 with subarea networking, and delve into APPN interconnectivity.
