Configure Report Service Unattended Execution Account

FineBuild can configure the Unattended Execution account used by Report Services. The unattended execution account is used by scheduled reports to connect to SQL Server, and for some other purposes in Report Services.

The Report Services Unattended Execution Account configuration relates to Process Id 4RAM, and is controlled by the parameters below:

In order to maintain compatibility with older versions of SQL FineBuild, the parameter /ConfigRSExec: can also be used.

FineBuild also uses the following parameters to help Configure the Report Services Unattended Execution Account:

Parameter Default Value Description
/RSExecAccount: none Unattended Execution Account name. This must be a Domain account in the form domain\account
/RSExecPassword: none Unattended Execution Account password

FineBuild will automatically configure the Report Services Unattended Execution Account.

Manual Configure Report Services Unattended Execution Account

The following steps show what you would have to do for manual Report Services Unattended Execution Account configuration. FineBuild does all of this work for you automatically.

  1. Start Report Services Configuration Manager

    Navigate to Start Menu -> Microsoft SQL Server -> Configuration Tools -> Report Services Configuration Manager.

    Click Connect to connect to Report Services

    Start Report Manager

  2. Select Execution Account

    Enter the following values, and then click Apply

    Item Value
    Specify an execution account Checked
    Account RSExecAccount value
    Password RSExecPassword value
    Confirm Password RSExecPassword value

    Set Execution Account

  3. Click Exit to close Report services Configuration Manager

    Save Configuration
