Another off the shelf PMC the PrPMC-800 that has these specifications as tested:
- PowerPC G4 7410 450Mhz or G3 750 450MHz
- 256 MB of SDRAM via 9pcs Samsung K4S560832B or 128 MB of SDRAM via 9pcs Micron 48LC16M8A2-75
- 128MB SDRAM version has been successfully upgraded to 256MB by replacing the RAM with 9pcs MT48LC32M8A2P-6A (166MHz), at least -75 (133MHz) is recommended. Setenv envarc:sonnet/Harrier256MB=1 to set the extra RAM.
- 2MB of L2 Cache only 1MB is used currently
- Harrier PCI Bridge
Various configurations exist for the Apocalypse including:
- PowerPC G3 750 or PowerPC G4 7410
- 128MB-512MB of SDRAM
- 1MB-2MB L2 Cache
- Onboard Ethernet (Unsupported and disabled)
- 32MB-64MB of Flash Storage (Unsupported and disabled)
Unless otherwise noted only the tested configuration is known to work.
Altivec is supported by the library.
In an A4000 with the Mediator A4000Di, the Apocalypse has been unstable unless the following conditions are met:
- The Apocalypse cannot be in the last or top slot
- There must be a card in the last or top slot, SB128, SCSI, 10MB and 100MB NIC seem to work fine for this function.
- It may require a long warm up time before the system is stable. Boot the machine, wait 10 minutes and reboot.
In an A3000 as tested all PCI slots were occupied.
