Y2Linux 1.0 Beta 6
Y2Linux 1.0 Beta 6: Playlists, and pause that really pauses. Linux 6.18 and the native Reborn music player for the Innioasis Y2.
Already running Y2Linux
Settings → About & Updates → Check for Updates → Download Update → Restart and Install.
What's new
- Playlists (Home → Playlists):
- Your .m3u / .m3u8 playlists from Internal Storage and the SD card, including ones exported by a computer (Windows, macOS or Linux paths are matched to your music).
- Make and change them on the player: New Playlist (named with the keyboard); Add to Playlist… on any song, album, artist or Now Playing; Remove; Move a song with the wheel; Rename, Duplicate, Delete; Save Queue as Playlist.
- Favorites with a heart: add or remove a song from its menu or from Now Playing, which shows a heart for favorites.
- The file stays the playlist: changes are written back into it, so your computer sees them too. Songs the player can't find right now (SD card out) stay in the file and come back when they're there.
- Pause and play continue at once: the player no longer restarts the song after a pause (it used to "buffer" for about a second, on Bluetooth and wired). After three minutes paused it rests the audio as before.
- Fast-forward / rewind (hold Next / Previous) no longer shows "audio reconfiguration is still pending": the position runs while you hold, and the song continues from there when you let go.
Everything from earlier betas (keyboard, search, Radio) is included.
Install (from stock)
You need SP Flash Tool v5.2032, a USB cable, Y2Linux-1.0.0-beta.6-first-install.zip below and the Innioasis Y2 firmware package v3.2.0 from Innioasis (also your way back to stock).
- Unpack both.
- SP Flash Tool → Download Only → load
MT6582_Android_scatter.txtfrom the Y2Linux zip. Exactly BOOTIMG, RECOVERY, ANDROID and USRDATA are ticked. - Click Download and connect the switched-off Y2; wait for the green tick.
- Unplug and press Power: Y2Linux and Reborn start, music works.
- Connect the Y2 to the computer and copy (don't move)
system.imgfrom the Innioasis package onto the Firmware drive. The player takes the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth firmware from it and turns the radios on.

Known issues (beta)
- Playlists and the new pause were built and tested on the computer; this is their first release on the player.
- Jumping to a new place in a song still takes about a second on Bluetooth.
- FM radio is planned for the next beta.
- Battery life in sleep is not yet stock-like (about 9 mA vs stock 1.3 mA). The player cannot detect wired headphones yet.
