Y2Linux 1.0 Beta 6.3: Power puts a paused player to sleep again. Linux 6.18 and the native Reborn music player for the Innioasis Y2.

Already running Y2Linux

Settings → About & Updates → Check for Updates → Download Update → Restart and Install.

Fixed

  • Power while paused said "The player is finishing another task" and the player stayed awake. Since Beta 6 a paused song keeps its audio output open for a few minutes so Play continues at once, and that open output kept the player from sleeping. A sleep request (Power, or the automatic one after the screen goes off) now closes the paused output first; Play afterwards starts at the same place.
  • Refused sleep attempts are now written to the player's log with their reason.

Everything from Beta 6.2 (clock, Time Zone, every skin updated, Bunny Bow) and earlier betas is included.

Install (from stock)

You need SP Flash Tool v5.2032, a USB cable, Y2Linux-1.0.0-beta.6.3-first-install.zip below and the Innioasis Y2 firmware package v3.2.0 from Innioasis (also your way back to stock).

  1. Unpack both.
  2. SP Flash Tool → Download Only → load MT6582_Android_scatter.txt from the Y2Linux zip. Exactly BOOTIMG, RECOVERY, ANDROID and USRDATA are ticked.
  3. Click Download and connect the switched-off Y2; wait for the green tick.
  4. Unplug and press Power: Y2Linux and Reborn start, music works.
  5. Connect the Y2 to the computer and copy (don't move) system.img from the Innioasis package onto the Firmware drive. The player takes the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth firmware from it and turns the radios on.

Known issues (beta)

  • The sleep fix, the clock and the skin changes were built and checked on the computer; this is their first release on the player.
  • The 12- or 24-hour clock follows the time zone; there is no switch yet.
  • Jumping to a new place in a song still takes about a second on Bluetooth.
  • FM radio is planned for the next beta.
  • Battery life in sleep is not yet stock-like (about 9 mA vs stock 1.3 mA). The player cannot detect wired headphones yet.

  • Y2Linux-1.0.0-beta.6.3-first-install.zip: images, scatter files and checksums for SP Flash Tool. The data image has no SSH key (developers: tools/production/first_owner.py).
