This is great @kojix2! Once it's released, would be good to simplify the installation instructions in the readme. On Mac, installation should be as easy as: brew install jupyterlab

This pull request adds ffi-rzmq to the runtime dependency.
Reinstalling ffi-rzmq when updating Ruby is very inconvenient.
Users of cztop can set environment variables. This is documented in the README.
