Can you install Security Onion 3.0 on non-Oracle linux distros?

I've been trying to install the Security Onion 3.0 iso as well as Oracle Linux 9 on an Intel based Macbook Pro, but the installer keeps failing at the disk setup step.

The only linux distro that successfully installs is Ubuntu. I was able to install Security Onion 2.4 on this system previously running Ubuntu 22.04, but now Security Onion 3.0 seems to check if it's Oracle and if not, it exists. Is there a way to install 3.0 on non-Oracle linux distros, such as Ubuntu?
