Some news & upcoming changes for 2025

Hi there 👋

As you may know, this project hasn't been maintained since September 2024, but don't worry, it's NOT abandoned!
A lot of things happened in the end of 2024, in my life, and on Kick's side too.
This project is a side project I'm working on on my free time. But since October 2024, I had almost no free time left to follow Kick's updates and provide proper support and care for it. I know some of you had problems with the authentication flow, and I felt bad not being able to fix that.
Things recently changed, I got a lot of free time back, and I intend to use it to maintain this project as much as I can.

First, I just released a new update that should fix most currently known problems, making this extension usable again.

Then, in the upcoming weeks, I'll start doing some R&D stuff to provide a major uplift of the global experience :

• A real configuration window : just like native Streamer.bot platforms accounts, this window will show your currently connected account and give you the possibility to logout to use a dedicated bot account.
• Simultaneous Streamer + Bot account : I don't know if this is possible yet, but I know this is requested a lot. I'll investigate this.
• Autonomous extension updater : this should help maintaining the extension up to date. You'll be notified when a new update is available, and a single click will be enough to update your extension. Not that easy to do, but it's a really interesting feature.

Of course, I'll also monitor Kick's progress on their API. At some point, when (if, lol) the public API releases, Streamer.bot will certainly be able to natively support Kick quickly after, and this extension will not be needed anymore. I know some platforms are already using a private and closed implementation of their new OAuth2 authorization flow, so I don't loose hope this will come soon.
