@shopify/shop 1.2.0
Find physical stores
Find a business's stores by city or neighborhood, search around supplied coordinates, or narrow to a product variant. Use shop location search to discover stores and shop location lookup for details on locations you already found.
Understand your account and orders
Search your Shop-tracked order history, with in-progress orders shown by default and completed orders available through --status all. Your account now shows granted spending limits, renewal periods and remaining allowance when available, alongside saved addresses and cards. These permissions describe your agent's access; checkout still determines whether a purchase can proceed. Signing out clears local access and attempts to revoke this device's sign-in with Shop.
Control when a card is retrieved
Browser-checkout spend requests now separate checking approval from retrieving a card. Use shop spend-request get <id> for status, then add --include card --wait 90 to wait for approval and retrieve the issued card. Add --output-file <path> for a private handoff without printing the card. Updated guidance also separates the merchant's purchase outcome from recording it with Shop: a reporting failure does not mean the purchase failed.
Install and troubleshoot more reliably
Installed skills now include a matching copy of Shop, removing their dependency on PATH. Run shop doctor to check your installation, skills, sign-in state and connection settings without exposing credentials; add --dry-run for local checks without network access. This release also refreshes plugin presentation across agent directories and adds compressed-response support to the Node client.
Upgrading
- Replace
--activitywith--status in_progress|allfor order searches. - Request cards explicitly with
--include card. Issued cards now usecardinstead ofinstrument; private handoff files use{spend_request_id,card}. - Rerun
shop skill --installafter upgrading to refresh installed skills and their bundled copies of Shop. The installer replaces symlinks at filenames it writes. - Use
SHOP_MCP_URLinstead of the removed--urlflag for custom endpoints.
v1.1.1: Merge pull request #10 from Shopify/sync/1.1.1
- Every Node release at or above the floor is supported — 22.21 or later within 22.x, and 24.5 or later. Closes #8.
shop skill --install --dir <path>writes the skill exactly where named. The Node package no longer limits the destination to a fixed set of directories, and--dirnames the skill's own directory, as the help now shows. Closes #9.- A backend that already holds a Shop token can hand it to the CLI as
SHOP_ACCESS_TOKEN. - Order search results are the orders placed through this agent plus the shopper's other recent and in-progress orders.
@shopify/shop 1.1.0
shop spend-request createnow requires--intent(context.intentin--arguments): one to three sentences, in the shopper's language, saying what is being bought and why. It is the text the shopper reads on Shop's approval page, so a request without it is refused before anything is sent.--business-countryon spend-request is now optional. Give it only when the site states the business's country, as a two-letter code; omit it rather than guess. Requests that already send a country are unchanged.--currencyon spend-request is the currency the site's checkout charges in. The CLI does not convert or re-price; if Shop cannot issue a credential in that currency, it says so as a currency refusal rather than a decline, and the right response is to tell the shopper, not to retry in another currency.- Improved refusal feedback on spend-requests.
- Improved catalog skill guidance for multi-currency workflows.
