This one was planned as a patch of text, and then i got caught up in speedrunning... in anyway;
Update Notes:
3.1.1 CBT changes.

  • Light mode updates:
    • Game over screen now actually changes for Light mode, as well as the text;
    • High score text use correct colors;
    • Snake eyes are now the correct flipped color;
  • High score now updates every frame instead of one time upon initiation.
    3.2 changes.
  • New beta setting: Seed system
    • Seed now definitively makes food/leftover definitively spawn;
    • HUD shows seed during gameplay, Seed records in Debug Logs
  • Settings panel is smaller with definitive size per setting.
  • highscore.txt changed to save.txt. Save.txt saves last seed and highscore
    • If you transfer your highscore.txt to the nasassets folder, it will automatically transfer to save.txt .
  • RIP highscore.txt

There is a big difference between the last one!!! There is now a whole new settings menu - with 8 options transforming gameplay!

  • New settings:

    • Toggleable music - Muted/Unmuted ((Default option - Unmute
    • Wrap-around mode - instead of death, walls provide a sorta portal to the other side. casual! ((Default option - Disabled
    • Theme option - Dark and light mode. ((Default option - Dark
    • Grid lines - shows lines of the game grid to pinpoint and adjust yourself to food. Options are 0%, 50% and a 100%. ((Default option - 0%
    • Controls - allows to change how to control the snake. Options are WASD|Arrows, IJKL, Arrows only, Spacebar (My wildcard - only one button to go with a cycle of right-down-left-up) ((Default option - WASD|Arrows
    • Toggleable timer - a basic timer in-game HUD in top-right ((Default option - Disabled
    • FPS Limiter (dunno if it actually works, i don`t have the equipment for it), Options are 30, 60, 120 and Unlimited FPS. ((Default option - 60 FPS
    • Hardcore mode - mode for basic stuff - disables pausing (including on focus loss), wrap-around enability, forces timer, and appropriate badge. ((Default option - Disabled
  • You can find all of these by pressing [ Settings ] in main menu. Please note that settings do NOT save after you close your game, you have to reenable them each time you launch the game

  • Now to other changes.

  • Yellow color (as seen in option "Faster!" for difficulty) is now replaced with a Purple color to improve visibility in Light mode

  • Game over (screen pixel fill effect) text changed. Don`t ask.

  • Changed text related to High scores: "Woah! New High score!!!" to "NEW HIGH SCORE!" (both are all caps), and "Your highest score:" to "Your highest ever score:"

  • To address the burst overpowerness; I didn`t think the system would be so rewarding! Linger time changed from 10 to 8 seconds, duration of burst from 5 to 4 seconds and burst speed multiplier from x2,5 to x2.

  • New Game over menu music - TryAgain.mp3 is now TryAgainOLD.mp3, and in its proper place - GameOver.mp3

  • Fixed Gameplay music not playing correctly after playing using the Play Again button.

  • Debug logs may be a clutter, but not in the way they are right now! Changed cap for Debug logs in nasassets at once from 5 to 7.

We got major additions! Like, too much additions!
Thanks to PIXX4L (A friend of mine) there is now actual music!

Update Notes:

  • Yay! I brought back Score! Now shows during gameplay!
  • Music. For Main Menu, During Death Animation and Game Over screen! Made by yours truly: PIXXEL
  • A death animation. The screen fills with red-like pixels fading to the Game Over menu.
  • Debug features added: press F5 in-game to see some nerdy info while playing; after every game launch there will be a debug file added to nasassets (up to 5) writing down whether something works.
  • Now after eating food there appears an fading orange rectangle - going over it speeds you up for 4,5 secs.
  • Game now saves your highest score ever - and shows whether you`ve beaten it on the Game Over screen.
  • Cell size desperately decreased from 25 to 20 - hoping to change the OOB snake issue; removed all text mentioning it (You don`t need to know it)
  • Added a difficulty selector - it has 4 levels, with The Classic being the one that I play with.
  • Movement and difficulty mechanic changed from an clock.tick(difficulty) function to an accumulating tick system
  • Game now tries to run at 60 fps.
  • Body gradient is enhanced - Now it actually uses the whole range of color the player is running,
  • There is now a countdown before starting the game, with green fading numbers from 3 to 1.
  • Pressing M puts you in the Main Menu while playing. Please don`t mis click.

No way... an update?

  • I am done with the small snake on a big ass screen! Size of window decreased 1366x768 and snake is increased in size! Chunky boy indeed!
  • Cool looking snake and food -- added white pixels so that it has eyes, food has a new color and also a shed of "shadow" on it, using pixels, duh.
  • Now, when I told snake got that style, I aint lyin! Now the snake has a gradient on its body! The further the head is away from the body - lower the color!

Bugs:

  • Uhm, my dumbass removed the white text that is displayed while playing from showing the score. Whoops! Gonna be fixed with a small patch or the next big update.
  • Both food and the snake get a little out of bounds. That`s a WINDOW problem, can kinda get quirky, but seems to bring no trouble, for now...

I promise ON GOD that i will not go on a 8 month vacation of nothing anytime soon. The next update is looking to bring a new effect when the snake dies! Stay tuned, and god-fucking-damnit somebody better JOIN the Closed Beta Program, man!

QoL updates - again. At this point, I`m wondering if i should work at this point.

Update Notes:

  1. Snake head is now a different, a distinct color
  2. Now the game is more fluent, updated color scheme
  3. Optimization for window-related code terms

We`ve got them QoL changes at this time:

  1. When changing to a different window (losing focus, like Alt+Tab), game automatically pauses
  2. Food now ABSOLUTELY can`t spawn on the snake body or before the head (which is rare but nonetheless possible)

KNOWN ISSUES:

Technically, with this update comes the problem of you surviving less in the endgame with a lot of score points.

Next update possibilities:

High Score being saved in, like a text file or something. I will try to implement this somehow, even if it will be possible to change the info.
