- Install Arduino V1 IDE, not V2
- Make sure to follow the Arduino setup instructions and if you are on Linux, add yourself the the appropriate group (usually dialout) to get access to write to the board. Also remove or disable modem manager if applicable to your install.
- Install board support for the ESP32.
- Tools > Boards > Boards Manager
- USE VERSION 2.0.17 by Espressif (3.0 has issues)
- Install Arduino Libraries
- Sketch > Include Library > Library Manger
- Aruinojson by Benoit Blanchon. I used version 7.1.0 as of this writing
- Install the three zipped up libraries from this repo under code>libraries by going to Sketch > Include Library > Add .zip Library
- Tools > Boards > ESP32 Arduino > ESP32S3 Dev module
- Make sure to select the 8MB flash size
- If you get a "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'serial'" error, then you need to install the python's pyserial library.
- it depends on your operating system how you install it. For me, I installed the python-pyserial system package. You can also install with pip.
- if you get a "sdkconfig.h: No such file or directory" then make sure you have the right board selected.
