Feature Request: Script execution on start, stop, and key binding

I store my markdown notes in a GitHub repo and use Git to manage history and sharing with other devices. What I would like to be able to do is set a script that will execute when Toney is started, stopped, and with a key binding: e.g. on startup run a script to fetch/pull from Git, on stop run a script to push to Git, on keybinding commit/push to Git.

My specific use-case is just one example, but the ability to run a script on keybinding and start/stop would be useful for numerous other reasons.
