Current plans include:

* Drop Python 2.7 support for RHEL/CentOS 7, and use OS distributed Python 3.6
* Drop Python 2.7 support for Ubuntu 16.04, and only support Python 3.6. Python 3.6 will need to be sourced by users from a suitable PPA.


Other possibilities include:

* Change default pack virtual environment to use Python 3
* Drop Python 2.7 support in the StackStorm `st2` codebase
* Convert ChatOps backend to Python
