Refill 0.3.2
Refill is free and open source (MIT). macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It isn't notarized yet.
Install or update
- Homebrew:
brew install --cask stepanblaha/tap/refill - One line:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StepanBlaha/Refill/main/scripts/install.sh | bash - By hand: download Refill.zip below (or Refill.dmg), and move Refill to Applications, replacing the old version. Settings in
~/.config/refillare kept. Then open Refill and go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, or runxattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Refill.app.
Homebrew and the one-line installer clear the quarantine flag. The zip is an ad-hoc signed app (codesign --sign -). Checksums are Refill.zip.sha256 and Refill.dmg.sha256.
Refill is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub, Cursor or Google.
Improved
- The Homebrew cask template uses
postflight_stepsinstead of the deprecatedpostflightblock.
Fixed
- Codex usage comes from the live ChatGPT usage endpoint using the login already in that Codex home, so a week that is used up shows 0% left even when the local session log is old. If that request fails, an old log whose reset time has passed is shown as — and last seen, not as a full tank.
Refill 0.3.1

Fixed
- Codex weekly usage follows the session log. A week that is fully used shows 0% left, including when that window's reset time is already past. Refill was treating the past reset as a full tank, so the week row showed 100%. The menu, notch, dashboard, widgets and notifications all use that same percent. The plan limit in the log is kept when a later model-bucket line says something else.

New
- Several Codex homes.
~/.codexkeeps the account idcodex:default.CODEX_HOME, every~/.codex-*and~/.codex_*folder, and extra folders in Settings are their own accounts. Settings → Accounts → Codex CLI opens Terminal withCODEX_HOMEset so you can log in. - Several GitHub Copilot accounts, one per
github.comlogin fromgh auth status. The login Refill already tracked stayscopilot:default. With noghlogin, the editor token in~/.config/github-copilotis still that one account. - Several Gemini CLI accounts.
~/.geministaysgemini:default.GEMINI_CLI_HOME,~/.gemini-*,~/.gemini-accounts/<name>and extra folders are separate accounts. Add a Gemini account opens Terminal withGEMINI_CLI_HOMEset. Gemini CLI stores the login in that home's.geminifolder. - Rename an account from ⋯ → Rename…. The name is stored for that account id and shown in the menu, the notch, the dashboard, widgets, history and notifications. Leave it blank to use the email or folder name again.
- When ntfy is on, Refill schedules a delayed push for each known reset (the ntfy
Atheader) so it arrives while the Mac sleeps or is off. The same message id per account and window replaces a pending push when the reset time changes. The ntfy token stays inintegrations.jsonon the Mac.
Improved
- Hide applies to Codex, Copilot, Gemini and Cursor the same way it does to Claude. Extra Codex and Gemini profile folders can be moved to the Trash. The default folder for each tool cannot. Cursor stays one account, because the Cursor app stores one login per Mac user.

Improved
- Switches in Settings and onboarding are Refill's own green switch, so they read clearly as on or off in every window, focused or not.
- Copilot, Cursor and Gemini descriptions in Settings → Accounts are plain sentences instead of file paths.
Fixed
- Marketing screenshots are rendered from the real app instead of HTML stand-ins.

New
- Setup guides for every integration and feature: ntfy, Pushover, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Home Assistant (with a ready-to-paste automation), Philips Hue, WLED, custom webhooks, the hook script, Shortcuts, the dashboard, widgets, quiet hours, extra Claude accounts, Copilot, Cursor and Gemini. Online at https://stepanblaha.github.io/Refill/guides/ and in
docs/GUIDES.md. - Every integration in Settings has a Setup guide button that opens its section of the guide. Settings → Accounts links to the account guide.
- Three ways to install without notarization. Homebrew:
brew install --cask stepanblaha/tap/refill. One line:curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StepanBlaha/Refill/main/scripts/install.sh | bash. By hand:Refill.ziporRefill.dmg, then System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, orxattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Refill.app. - Each release uploads
Refill.zip(a ditto archive of the app, ad-hoc signed withcodesign --sign -when nothing has signed it yet) next toRefill.dmg, and a.sha256for each. The installer checks that checksum before it replaces/Applications/Refill.app.
Improved
- The landing page is redesigned: a live hero, a bento grid of sources, a pinned scroll story for signals, grouped integrations, a drawn burn-rate chart, an accordion FAQ and copy buttons for every install command. Page backgrounds are black throughout.
- The mobile menu slides open, blurs the page behind it and closes when you tap outside.
Fixed
- The dashboard Port field is back in Settings → General → Dashboard.
- Copy buttons on the site always confirm, or explain the failure, instead of staying silent when the browser blocks the clipboard.
Refill 0.1.1
Refill is free and open source (MIT). macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
Install or update
- Download Refill.dmg below and open it.
- Drag Refill to Applications, replacing the old version. Settings in
~/.config/refillare kept. - First launch: open Refill, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. The app isn't notarized yet. Or run
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Refill.app.
Refill is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub, Cursor or Google.
New
- The public landing page is finished for release: mobile menu, page titles, a 1200×630 Open Graph image, JSON-LD, breadcrumbs,
llms.txt, icons and a 404. It is published at https://stepanblaha.github.io/Refill/. Refill --render-ogwrites that 1200×630 social banner.
Improved
- The README is rewritten for a public release: what Refill does, how to install it, which sources it reads, how signals work, and how to build it.
- First-launch instructions match current macOS: the app is not notarized, so open it and use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, or
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Refill.app.
Fixed
- The notch banner on the top edge measures its message and grows, so a long Drip line, an account name or larger text stays inside the pill instead of being clipped.
- The menu, the dashboard toast and the landing-page status pill wrap instead of overflowing.
