Refill is free and open source (MIT). macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It isn't notarized yet.

Install or update

  • Homebrew: brew install --cask stepanblaha/tap/refill
  • One line: curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StepanBlaha/Refill/main/scripts/install.sh | bash
  • By hand: download Refill.zip below (or Refill.dmg), and move Refill to Applications, replacing the old version. Settings in ~/.config/refill are kept. Then open Refill and go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Refill.app.

Homebrew and the one-line installer clear the quarantine flag. The zip is an ad-hoc signed app (codesign --sign -). Checksums are Refill.zip.sha256 and Refill.dmg.sha256.

Refill is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub, Cursor or Google.

New

  • Several Codex homes. ~/.codex keeps the account id codex:default. CODEX_HOME, every ~/.codex-* and ~/.codex_* folder, and extra folders in Settings are their own accounts. Settings → Accounts → Codex CLI opens Terminal with CODEX_HOME set so you can log in.
  • Several GitHub Copilot accounts, one per github.com login from gh auth status. The login Refill already tracked stays copilot:default. With no gh login, the editor token in ~/.config/github-copilot is still that one account.
  • Several Gemini CLI accounts. ~/.gemini stays gemini:default. GEMINI_CLI_HOME, ~/.gemini-*, ~/.gemini-accounts/<name> and extra folders are separate accounts. Add a Gemini account opens Terminal with GEMINI_CLI_HOME set. Gemini CLI stores the login in that home's .gemini folder.
  • Rename an account from ⋯ → Rename…. The name is stored for that account id and shown in the menu, the notch, the dashboard, widgets, history and notifications. Leave it blank to use the email or folder name again.
  • When ntfy is on, Refill schedules a delayed push for each known reset (the ntfy At header) so it arrives while the Mac sleeps or is off. The same message id per account and window replaces a pending push when the reset time changes. The ntfy token stays in integrations.json on the Mac.

Improved

  • Hide applies to Codex, Copilot, Gemini and Cursor the same way it does to Claude. Extra Codex and Gemini profile folders can be moved to the Trash. The default folder for each tool cannot. Cursor stays one account, because the Cursor app stores one login per Mac user.
