StinkSNIFFER v0.2.0 — Meet Sniffy
StinkSNIFFER v0.2.0 — Meet Sniffy
- Added a persistent 0–100% transparency slider in Options. Default 0 is fully opaque; the shell and silent looping watermark fade together while controls and Sniffy stay readable.
- Moved SNIFF inside the source bar and removed its separate row. Window dimensions remain unchanged.
- Added Sniffy, a floating animated skull with transparent background, first-launch instructions, occasional paperclip jokes, and Show tips / Hide Sniffy controls.
- Saving starts soft background music at 10% volume, once per capture. Mute/unmute sits at the bottom of the progress section and is remembered. Completion, cancellation, and errors stop playback.
- MP4 filenames now use
💀StreamerName_YYYY-MM-DD💀.mp4, based on the VOD live date. Duplicate names add_2,_3, etc. before the closing skull. - Direct M3U8 sources with missing streamer/date metadata ask for those details before SAVE becomes available.
- Launch update checks now default to StinkWind/StinkSNIFFER. Updates show release notes and open the release download page after confirmation.
- Existing bounded HLS retries, stream-copy exports, source-warning completion states, diagnostics, and storage checks are retained.
Windows 10/11, portable: extract the ZIP and run StinkSNIFFER.exe. Keep _internal beside the executable. No Python or FFmpeg installation required.
Validated: native-rendition HLS export with a temporary HTTP 503, Unicode/duplicate filenames, storage gates, onboarding/mute persistence, transparency controls, and packaged video/GIF/music decoding. Full multi-hour capture validation remains an ongoing real-world check.
