About Shape
What is Tactigon Shape? Tactigon Shape is a graphical programming editor based on Blockly Shape an open source software originally developed in Google's laboratories. The core idea behind the project is to allow users to build applications without the need to type code; its operation is based on dragging and dropping blocks that resemble puzzle pieces.
In practice, Blockly functions as a component that can be integrated into a platform. Its application areas are diverse: it can be used within educational and training projects, corporate contexts (as in my case), and even video gaming. Structurally, Blockly resembles App Inventor, another Google product that was later handed over to researchers at MIT.
The editor, called Blockly Developer Tools, allows for the visual creation of custom blocks, generating the corresponding JSON for the block's structure. It also supports the real-time export of the generated code into JavaScript, Dart, Python, and XML during development sessions. By utilizing generator functions, this code allows the blocks to be integrated into one's own systems, just as I did in Bianconiglio.
- Visual Programming: Drag-and-drop interface that helps users understand programming concepts.
- Code Generation: Automatically generates code in multiple programming languages.
- Customizable: You can create your own blocks and define their behavior.
