v1.3
Onimusha: Way of the Sword VR – v1.3
Install: copy dinput8.dll into the game folder and into _storage_ (overwrite).
First install: also extract VR.zip (openvr_api.dll + openxr_loader.dll) into the game folder.
New
- AFR is the default rendering technique, with a per-eye DLSS/FSR fix (no more blur/wobble with the game's upscaler).
- Less squint when turning the camera with the stick (AFR): both eyes of a frame pair now use the same game camera.
- Rendering sliders: Brightness, Contrast, Sharpness, Saturation (+ Reset), and SMAA under Post Processing.
- L3 + R3 recenter now also resets your position, like the SteamVR/OpenXR recenter – the image is right in front of you again.
Optional: AFW (Alternate Frame Warping)
AFW needs PureDark's PDAFWPlugin.dll, which is not included here.
It is part of PureDark's RE9 package: https://github.com/PureDark/REFramework/releases/tag/RE9_AFW_v1.0-beta.6
Take PDAFWPlugin.dll from that package and put it into the Onimusha game folder. Without it, AFW is greyed out in the menu ("PDAFWPlugin.dll needed").
Hotkeys
- LB + RB: open/close the menu
- L3 + R3: recenter
OnimushaWOTSVR v1.2
Onimusha: Way of the Sword VR v1.2
Gamepad hotkeys (Xbox / XInput)
- LB + RB (press together): open / close the mod menu
- Left Stick press + Right Stick press (L3 + R3 together): recenter the view
In the menu
- D-Pad / Left Stick: navigate
- Right Stick: scroll / adjust sliders
- A: select
- B: back / close
- The game does not receive gamepad input while the menu is open.
DualSense works through Steam Input (or DS4Windows), because it is then seen as an XInput pad.
Changes
- Fixed heavy flickering in the headset when looking in the walking direction: Volumetric Fog and LDR Post Process are now toggles in the Rendering menu and are off by default
- New picture options in the Rendering menu: Brightness, Contrast, Shadow Contrast, Gamma and Sharpness, each with a Reset button (Reset = game value)
- Brightness and Gamma use the game's own display settings, so they apply to headset and monitor
- Turning off LDR Post Process changes the look of the image; Contrast, Gamma and Brightness can be used to adjust it

- HUD is no longer doubled per eye and no longer trails behind.
Install: extract OnimushaWOTSVR.zip into the game folder (next to OnimushaWotS_Demo.exe). It contains dinput8.dll (REFramework), openvr_api.dll (OpenVR) and openxr_loader.dll (OpenXR), plus THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.txt.
